The Finance Committee manages the financial affairs of the Church and makes a monthly report to the Church Council. It appoints active members as counters who are responsible to the Finance Committee for receiving all offerings, keeping accurate records and transmitting such deposits to the Treasurer. The Finance Committee prepares and submits an annual budget to the congregation for approval, selects an audit committee annually in coordination with the Property Committee to make recommendations to the Council regarding the building use fee schedule. The Finance Committee is also responsible for overseeing the bookkeeper, recommended by the Church Council, who may be a volunteer, a paid employee engaged for the sole purpose of the financial duties of the Church, or an independent accounting service.
